The Whittlesey Sports Association has received a generous donation of portable floodlights worth £6,000 from The Whittlesey Charity. The new lighting equipment will be used to support community sporting activities across the town.
The lights were officially launched this week with Whittlesey Juniors hosting an under-12s match under the new floodlights. Claire Rayner, Chair of The Whittlesey Charity, and Whittlesey Mayor David Masson were present to perform a ceremonial kick-off to mark the occasion. The portable nature of the lights means they can be used at various sporting venues around Whittlesey, extending playing hours and enabling more community sports events to take place.
